Hello there!
I’m Michael, the author of this blog. By profession, I am a Senior IT consultant and architect with a deep interest in best practices for application and desktop delivery on the Microsoft cloud platform. I work at a German consulting firm, where I engage in various consultation and development projects. Beyond my professional responsibilities and blogging, I am passionate about helping others develop their IT skills.
With over a decade of experience in IT infrastructure and digitalization projects centered around Microsoft technologies, I started my career in automation deployment within Windows Server on-premises environments. Over the past few years, however, I have primarily focused on Microsoft cloud services. I design and implement a range of valuable solutions for my clients, including Microsoft 365 migrations, application integrations, automations, and various background processes. Additionally, I review solutions crafted by others to ensure they meet high standards of quality and security.
For me, it’s not enough that software simply functions as intended. The solutions I deliver must also be elegantly implemented, user-friendly, cost-effective, easy to maintain, and secure. Application security, in particular, is a passion of mine. In addition to developing secure software, I review the security of applications created by others and teach secure development practices to my developer colleagues as part of my role. I approach all of this from the perspective of the Microsoft cloud platform, leveraging its features and services to enhance our solutions.

Creating something from nothing is no simple feat. It requires a confluence of inspiration, perspective, motivation, and the right tools—all critical elements of creativity. Achieving the perfect blend of these factors at the ideal moment can be elusive.
Spending all day at your desk in front of a screen is rarely the most conducive setting for generating big, innovative ideas. One of the best ways to stimulate creativity is to get up and move around.
To some extent, we are all creatures of habit. However, sticking to the same routines and repeating the same activities leaves little room for thinking differently. By diversifying our inputs—the places we visit, the people we interact with, the media we consume—we can evolve our creative outputs. In other words, take that vacation you’ve been dreaming about, read diverse books, or strike up a conversation with a neighbor or colleague you’ve never spoken to before. If time allows, try learning a new language.
Many creatives aspire to enter what is commonly known as a “flow state” or “being in the zone.” This is a period of intense focus and immersion, where one is deeply engrossed in their work. To minimize distractions while in this state, start by turning off non-essential notifications on your phone and laptop. A constantly pinging device is not conducive to achieving highly creative work. Seek out a quiet place free from disruptive sounds—steer clear of noisy coffee shops, casual conversations, barking dogs, and similar interruptions.
